Introduced last year, the BLKRBN has already proven to be a huge success. Its lightweight frame and high performance directly contributed to a World Cup win in some of the most hardcore conditions imaginable, in Fiji, with Baptiste Cloarec. Now in its second generation, we’ve refined the design even further. A modified luff curve has softened the feel, bringing it more in line with the Vogue HD. In addition, subtle changes to the outline help maintain tension along the sail’s perimeter, allowing for reduced reinforcement and further weight savings. We continue to use our BLKRBN Technora film, a super lightweight scrim that uses Technora yarns to create an incredibly strong, stretch-resistant structure, all held together by an ultra-thin film. The key advantage this technology offers over standard membrane construction is that it’s produced as a continuous roll in a tightly controlled process, with extremely high resistance to delamination. This results in a longer-lasting, more durable sail. The outcome is an incredibly light, long-lasting, and high-performing sail, built to push your level higher.
