At Milano Design Week 2025, RRD and Italdesign presented Quintessenza, a concept car that explores new intersections between design, mobility, and human connection.
Hosted at the RRD showroom in Via Tortona 31, the exhibition responded to the theme Connected Worlds, bringing together two brands driven by a shared vision rooted in Italian craftsmanship and continuous innovation.
After an international tour, Quintessenza arrived in Milan with a new visual identity featuring RRD’s Razzle Dazzle monogram - a geometric pattern first conceived for watersports gear and later evolved into a signature of the RRD’s fashion collections. Inspired by marine camouflage and optical art, it symbolizes the constant movement and transformation embraced by both brands.
Water, one of the concept’s foundational elements, serves as a bridge between RRD and Italdesign. Born from the sea, RRD brings its spirit of exploration and discovery into the realm of mobility, while Italdesign turns the car into a platform for creative expression.
Quintessenza blends the elegance of a GT with the functionality of a pick-up, embracing a human-centered, digital-detox philosophy that reconnects people with nature. Its clean interior, rotating rear seats, and intuitive tech promote clarity and presence, while Elaphe’s in-wheel motors power a forward-looking platform for modern explorers.
“With Quintessenza,” says Roberto Ricci, “we want to inspire a new generation of designers, showing that art and functionality can coexist in a harmonious and meaningful way.”
